‘Efficacy in Aging’, is a dynamic Wellness Program designed by Yvonne Ferguson Hardin. Therapeutic Recreation Director/Health and Fitness Specialist , Yvonne Ferguson Hardin.
Working with Older adults for over twenty years in roles such as Director of Recreation ( of three different types of LTC home), Fitness expert ( for the University of Pennsylvania’s Falls prevention program Study for older African American), Brain Injury Therapist (for Moss Rehabilitation) and Wellness Manager/Fitness Specialist for Bayada being a leader in servicing this population for almost three decades has provided the deep intuitive understanding and the experience to create a plan of action to execute this mission of success titled ‘Efficacy in Aging’.Classes are for age 50 and up.
STRETCH 4 LIFE
Class designed to improve the overall flexibility level and balance of the participant. Level one is conducted in a chair with participants standing for the balance exercises.
Level two is conducted both standing,sitting and also lying on a mat. Alternative options are always given.
ABS AND YOGA FUSION (2&3)
30 min abs /Yoga fusion is for abdominal and lower back strengthening and toning. Yoga based stretches with deep breathing enhances oxygen flow and flexibility.
These classes are Tue/Thur 1:00pm-1:40pm. Low intensity ,High repetition Movements targeting all of the major muscles in the body. Participants go at their own level.
Lots of Abdominal , Glutes, Chest, Arms, Legs, back, Shoulders…. Bringing each muscle group to its knees. Equipment used, weights or weighted balls, Tubing or strengthening bands, Large ball, Medicine ball or Kettlebell. (These can be purchased by participant form Fergie or they can get them themselves).
BALANCE AND RELEASE
Exercises using any of the following tools, Foam roller,Stretching Strap,cones,and balance disks to increase flexibility and balance.Class designed to improve the overall flexibility level and balance of the participant.
This is bootcamp! Class held outdoor in the woods 80% of the year. Burpees, pushups, running, climbing , Jumping, lunges etc. Participants
always go at their own level. Arrive on time because this class often changes destinations once the class begins.
Designed for fat and weight loss, improving fitness considerably and strengthening muscle
ROLL N HAUL
High intensity ,advanced class using TRXsuspension and large ball to improve strength and core.
WAKE UP AND MOVE (2&3)
30 min Wake up and Move is an intermediate strength and cardio class using body weight ,mat & weights and chair.
This class burns calories and speeds up the metabolism for a day of ultimate fat burning.
BOX,SKIP AND ROLL
Challenging class using, boxing moves, jumprope,and a large ball to tone and improve endurance and power.
BEGINNERS' TOTAL BODY WORKOUT' (1)
30 minute focused on strengthening and toning the whole body while learning how to use weights,balls and other gym tools properly.
